We are looking for a Head of Applications (m/f/d) for our Group IT department at our location in Neunkirchen/Siegerland, or Dortmund, or Giebelstadt (largely remote possible).
Your Role
As Head of IT Applications (m/w/d), you are steering all IT Application Services for the SSI SCHÄFER GROUP across business units and regions. With your globally distributed team, you provide and continuously improve state-of-the-art IT services that enable continued business success. You define and implement a globally harmonized application landscape. By shaping and executing global transformation initiatives together with your business stakeholders (e.g. ERP roadmap), you ensure to realize an integrated and consolidated application architecture step-by-step. You are reporting to the Group CIO.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Steer the global IT applications team of 50+ highly qualified experts - currently organized in the teams for CAD/PLM, ERP, CRM, Collaboration/M365
* Complete the implementation of truly global IT application services and ensure required availability, performance, and scalability
* Ideate, align, and realize the target IT architecture/application landscape to ensure successful application rationalization incl. continuous sundown of legacy components
* Co-shape and co-drive strategic/transformational initiatives, e.g. ERP roadmap of SSI SCHÄFER GROUP together with the business units, global functions, and regions
* Act as permanent member of the global IT Management Team and serve as deputy of the group CIO
* Select and steer external partners to ensure successful IT project realization as well as reliable IT services
Your Profile
* Degree in computer science, business informatics, or a related field
* 12+ years of experience in IT application management, thereof at 7+ years of disciplinary leadership (e.g. team lead / department lead)
* Strong experience in business-driven ERP transformation/harmonization (template design and rollout) in global organizations
* Solid background in Enterprise Architecture Management with strong focus on application landscape design and application rationalization
* Proficient expertise in required IT methodologies and technologies (e.g. IT Service Management/ITIL, SaaS, Cloud Computing, Waterfall vs. Agile vs. Hybrid Project Management)
* Highly engaged and visionary leader with strong empathy and ability to successfully act at the intersection of business and IT
* Excellent German and English language skills are a must
