Investment Director (m/f/d)

For our office in Hamburg, Frankfurt am Main, Luxembourg or Madrid, we are searching for an Investment Director (m/f/d) dedicated to its recently launched value-add infrastructure fund. The fund is looking to invest in decentralised behind-the-meter energy systems, enabling infrastructure decarbonising transport and industry, and utility-scale storage through either platform and/or dedicated SPV investments. It is classified as an SFDR Art. 9 strategy.
The Role
As an Investment Director, you will play a key role in originating, executing, and managing value-added investments across Europe. You will actively contribute to ongoing fundraising activities. You will work closely together with key internal and external stakeholders. You will lead by example and be an integral part of Aquila Capital´s investment management team.
Your responsibilities
1. Originate, execute, and manage investments in line with the fund strategy
2. Contribute to ongoing fundraising activities as a key member of the fund’s investment team
3. Lead investments from origination to completion working closely together with internal and external stakeholders
4. Manage and drive completed investments to exit optimizing risks and returns
5. Closely collaborate with and create buy-in from internal and external stakeholders
6. Inspire and motivate Aquila Capital’s investment management team by leading by example
Your qualifications
1. 10-15 years of relevant European experience in private equity or investment banking
2. Proven track record of origination, execution, and portfolio management of investments in value-add infrastructure
3. Independent origination, execution, and portfolio management skills
4. Strong European origination network and a proven track record in deal sourcing
5. Experience in leading and structuring complex investments in different (decarbonization) sectors
6. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills
7. Intrinsically driven, self-starting, flexible, empathetic, and collaborative mindset
8. Affinity with SFDR Article 9 requirements
9. Fluency in English with German considered favorably
10. Ability to travel
