Mode of Employment: Limited, full time As a mandatory intern at Siemens, you have the unique opportunity to contribute your strengths in a diverse range of tasks and gain practical experience The increasing use of distributed energy systems consisting of multiple generation, storage, and consumption assets has led to a plethora of services like monitoring services, asset and system control services, and forecasting services. Each of these services requires asset configurations that among other parameters, include the definition of rated powers and efficiencies. The goal of this internship is to develop data-driven algorithms to automatically identify key parameters like efficiency and rated power from historic sensor measurements. These algorithms shall be developed for different energy system components like batteries, heat pumps, photovoltaic modules, etc. Additionally, these algorithms shall be integrated into existing products to periodically update asset configurations. You’ll make an impact by You will research state of the art in asset parameter identification During the internship you will develop and apply new algorithms using AI techniques You will test models with realistic energy time series Your success is grounded in You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in energy engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, informatics or data science with focus on energy systems and time series analysis. You have first experience or strong interest in modeling and simulation of energy systems Ideally you have first experience or strong interest in time series analysis Strong interest in the energy sector and the transformation of the energy system complete your profil You have proficiency in software development tools (e.g. Visual Studio Code) as well as time series analysis frameworks (e.g., pandas, Polars, DuckDB) and programming languages (preferably Python) You have good English and/or German skills You are much more than your qualifications, and we believe in the potential of every single candidate. We look forward to getting to know you Your individual personality and perspective are important to us.
