Honeywell Speciality Chemicals Seelze has been developing and producing high-purity fine chemicals for over a century. At the Seelze site, Honeywell manufactures more than 500 different products, including electronic chemicals, inorganic fine chemicals, and specialty chemicals. Our diverse portfolio includes numerous products used in the production of semiconductors and microchips, as components in the automotive industry, in oral care, or as escape route markings.
As a Chemist at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in our chemical production facilities in product development in Seelze. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient production of chemicals while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our operations and have a positive impact on our customers.
You will report to the Technical Manager and work at our Seelze site in normal shifts.
In this role, you will monitor and control production, handle chemicals, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety are essential to achieving high product quality.
Responsibilities:
1. Pilot manufacturing in laboratory and technical scale
2. Conducting reactions in technical facilities according to specifications (operating instructions/protocols)
3. Supervising multiple production lines
4. Sampling during ongoing experiments
5. Procurement of raw materials and disposal of residual materials, as well as storing and retrieving raw materials and products in SAP
6. Recording and evaluating analytical data
7. Documenting and archiving procedures, activities, and results
8. Transferring processes from the laboratory to production scale and accompanying the relevant production facilities in the technical center and/or plant
9. Maintenance and upkeep of the technical center/laboratory inventory
10. Independent planning and execution of experimental laboratory tests
11. Planning and setup of laboratory apparatus, selecting suitable reaction conditions, and coordinating timing of reactions
12. Producing samples or new modified products
In October 2024, Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a standalone, publicly traded company. We intend for this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, to be part of this future transaction when the spin-off occurs.
Requirements:
1. B.Sc. in Chemistry, training as a chemical laboratory technician, CTA, chemist, production specialist in chemistry, or training in a chemistry-related field or equivalent
2. Several years of professional experience
3. High attention to detail and commitment to safety
4. SAP knowledge is advantageous
5. MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
6. Forklift license desirable
7. Very good German and English skills are advantageous
