As Head of Sales & Marketing Energy Industry, you will drive revenue growth and expand market presence by leading sales, proposal management, and marketing initiatives. You will define and execute sales strategies, oversee the Sales Engine, and ensure seamless operations across internal and external markets. You will lead business development efforts to identify new markets and growth opportunities, while enhancing competitive positioning through targeted marketing activities. Additionally, you will manage key account relationships and coordinate major proposals to ensure success. You will also be responsible for structured performance tracking, revenue forecasting, and continuously optimizing sales and marketing processes to maximize commercial outcomes.
About the role
* Sales strategy and leadership: Developing and managing sales, proposal, marketing and business development teams with clear responsibilities and competencies, and aligning the sales strategy with internal stakeholders (e.g. business partners, project portfolio management).
* Market and business development: Identifying new markets, customer needs and growth opportunities, and developing targeted marketing strategies.
* Sales engine and processes: Managing efficient sales operations, continuous optimisation of tools and processes for proposal management and project portfolio management.
* Customer management: Implementing the 'one face to the customer' principle, managing key account relationships and coordinating strategic customer offers.
* Sales management and proposal management: Defining and implementing market- and product-specific sales strategies, including pricing models and proposal processes.
* Marketing and Positioning: Monitoring of branding, trade fair and customer events, as well as promoting thought leadership in the market.
* Analysis and Control: Development of sales forecasts, sales planning, performance monitoring and market analyses for continuous strategy optimisation, including systematic tracking and reporting to senior management.
Job requirements and experience
* University degree in engineering, natural sciences or a technical/business degree.
* Several years of experience in sales, marketing or business development, ideally in the energy or technology industry, as well as proven leadership experience.
* Ability to develop and implement sales and marketing strategies and adapt them flexibly to market changes.
* In-depth understanding of market trends, customer needs and competitive environments, as well as excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Experience in managing sales processes, offer management and the use of relevant sales management tools.
* Willingness to travel internationally on occasion and confident dealing with global stakeholders.
* Fluent written and spoken German and English.
