ManTech is seeking a skilled, professional and service-oriented Environmental Science and Protection Manager III to join our vehicle sustainment team. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Agriculture Cleaning and African Swine Fever Sanitization (ACAS) program. The Environmental Science and Protection Manager III is responsible for overseeing and managing environmental protection programs and initiatives. The Environmental Science and Protection Manager III reports to the Logistics Manager as part of the ACC Environmental Services/HAZMAT capability. They supervise and mentor the Environmental Science and HAZMAT Teams. This position supports ACAS Coordination Cell (ACC) activities, TOR Tasks and SubTasks as indicated in support of ACAS execution as part of the ACC Environmental Services/HAZMAT capability area, and will support ACAS activities. Important Note : Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 60 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system. Responsibilities Include: - This role involves developing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and to promote sustainable practices within the organization. - They perform inspections and testing to identify, abate, or eliminate sources of pollutants or hazards affecting the environment or public health. - They develop, administer, and oversee the implementation of site environmental, safety, and occupational health programs. They design, develop, implement, and oversee the organization's environmental, health, and safety programs to safeguard employees and surrounding communities, ensuring all ACAS operational sites/facilities are in compliance with regulations. - They supervise the daily activities of business support, technicians, and production teams, setting priorities to ensure task completion and coordinating work activities with other supervisors. - Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and the local business plan, with guidance and oversight from the manager. - They proactively support the ACAS Safety Plan. - They are responsible for supervising program staff and activities in obtaining licenses, permits, registrations, authorizations, or notifications necessary to operate and dispose of generated waste in accordance with host nation laws and regulations. - They support the ACC and RSTs in determining and maintaining compliance with applicable HAZMAT laws and regulations. - They supervise the Environmental Science program, overseeing the handling, containerization, storage, and intra-site transportation of regulated hazardous and non-hazardous waste. - They ensure RST staff are properly trained and certified. Required Qualifications : - BA/BS degree (Permitted experience exchange: High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree) - 9 years of experience (Permitted education exchange: A candidate holding a relevant Master's degree may be granted 2 years' experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years' experience credit for that extra education.) 4 years of work experience (Permitted education exchange: A candidate holding a relevant Master's degree may be granted 2 years' experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years' experience credit for that extra education.) - Five (5) years of position specific relevant experience. - Ability to work effectively across multiple locations. Solid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution. - Experienced in managing Environmental Science or HAZMAT staff. - Experienced in Environmental and HAZMAT regulations, policies, and best practices. Familiarity with ADR. Preferred Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field. - HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, OSHA training certificates. - Certifications / training / familiarity associated with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14064:2018 Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals, and ADR. Battalion/Brigade-level HAZMAT - Program lead as a part of a military unit. - Experience with leading a HAZMAT Program at a business or on a contract program similar to ACAS. - Training and experience with HAZMAT associated with cleaning and disinfecting heavy equipment and other agricultural items. Clearance Requirements: - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Physical Requirements: - Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel. - Must be able to push, pull, and reach. - Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
