The Operations & IT Strategy has Talent and Development at its heart. Our Early Careers programmes, and the broader Early Careers population joining Operations & IT continue to strengthen our diversity and ensure we have the right skills for the future. We are now looking for a hard-working and confident individual to join our Operations & IT Early Careers team.
The APAC region is critical to the future strategic growth of both Operations and Global IT; harnessing the power of early career's talent will be key to accelerating what differentiates us and building a balanced talent pipeline – utilising a broad range of early careers solutions (e.g. summer internships, post-graduate study programs, direct hire pipelining from academia).
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of effective early careers solutions across the APAC region, which align to the future needs of the local strategic workforce plans and overall talent plans. You will partner with a range of regional/local team members to develop suitable action plans and ensure impactful delivery against agreed priorities (incl. HRDs, HRBPs, TAq Partners, T&D Partners, program owners, key business stakeholders).
In addition, you will be the Global Operations & IT SME on Work Placements (so programs where students join us for periods of time whilst studying), making sure we follow and develop standard process consistently globally, provide great quality opportunities that support our areas of growth and critical skills and develop processes to support the conversion of identified talents into permanent roles.
Lastly, you will work closely with your colleagues within the Ops and IT Early Careers Team to build an effective team spirit; bringing thought leadership, supporting the delivery of global team priorities, forming the team’s understanding of the APAC region and supporting each other’s growth.
There are many collaborators across the Early Careers community – having strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrix are very important to this role; as you will be required to collaborate and influence inside and outside of AZ.
Accountabilities
* Understand and support the development and delivery of early careers action plans for APAC region; this may include co-owning plans in agreed locations, sitting on local working groups.
* Be the team SME on Work Placements (students joining us for periods of time whilst they study) – understanding (for the target countries) the opportunities available, how we use them, and ensuring all early careers joining us via this route have a good quality experience, as well as pipelining into our programs and direct hire roles.
* Be a key member of the Operations & IT Early Careers team, bringing thought leadership and working on broader global projects where appropriate.
Essential Skills/Experience
* Experience in a related team including – Early Careers, Talent & Development, Attraction & Recruitment, Business Partnering or substantial experience of working with, handling or mentoring Early Talent.
* Confirmed work experience in a highly collaborative matrix environment (regionally or globally), with a focus towards delivering positive business results.
* Experience in engaging with, and managing, multiple team members.
* Project and programme leadership skills to run and deliver multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
* Ability to identify and drive improvements, using innovative thinking, internal and external insights and data.
* A confident communicator with the ability to represent the business area, and help shape and influence approaches.
* The ability to understand and focus on inclusion and diversity.
Desirable Skills/Experience
* Experience of operating across business functions and geographies in large, complex and sometimes uncertain environments.
* Experience working in a global business area.
* Experience working in Operations & IT.
* Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business or other relevant team.
