Hauptaufgaben
Inspects and coordinates service, maintenance and repair contracts, like trash and recycling collection and disposal services, chimney sweeping; TUEV inspections and maintenance of force protection barriers, elevators, cranes, pressure tanks and heating systems; cleaning and maintenance of POL- and grease separators; pressing and removal of sewage sludge and wash-rack sludge; sewer line TV inspections; grass cutting and cleaning contracts as well as approximately 40 other service, maintenance and repair contracts. Such contracts can be up to some millions dollars. Inspections on service, maintenance and repair contracts are performed to determine if work was performed in accordance with terms of applicable contracts. Assists the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) in making suggestions as to contractor's material and equipment used and method of accomplishing work in order to meet inspections and acceptance standards. Makes decisions on acceptability of workmanship and materials within specific instructions from the COR or technical experts. Makes the necessary reports and ordering of paper and toner for the DPW copy machine. Initiates and inspects the repair and maintenance of the copy machine. Orders and accompanies delivery of heating oil and propane gas for heating purposes to all leased housing and GRPH buildings off-post and buildings on-post. Maintains mandatory logbooks for the ordering, delivery and usage of waste oil, heating oil and propane gas for heating purposes. Calculates consumptions including costs; reports these data electronically to other organizations within the US-Army for reimbursement. Takes the necessary measurements to determine the fill-levels of used oil tanks, propane gas tanks and heating oil tanks. Initiates the necessary safety inspections required by Host Nation Law for these tanks in a timely manner. Makes appointments with customers (Military, GS or housing residents) to gain access to office buildings, motor pools, troop barracks, maintenance buildings, DODDS buildings and AFH buildings for maintenance and repair work performed by contractors. Maintains and develops databases using a PC to record customer complaints and inspection deficiencies. Independently investigates problems arising from customer complaints and makes oral and written reports, by using a PC, to COR or supervisor regarding unacceptable practices and methods identified during the inspections.
Performs other duties as assigned.

C-5a:
E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 2 years of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III: 1 year of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level IV: No additional experience required.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.
• Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B.
• Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.
• Technical profession or commercial training (kaufmännische Ausbildung) with technical background knowledge desired.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency level B2 AND German Language Proficiency level C1 required.

• The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel).
• Employee may perform the work at a location away from the regular worksite (e.g. at home) on a non-routine, ad-hoc basis. This includes work performed to complete a short-term special assignment or to accommodate special circumstances.
• Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
