* coordination of the central data management such as management of a data portal as well as development and maintenance of tools for automatic data quality control,
* scientific activities and publications explicitly related to spatio-temporal data analysis,
* further development of the monitoring program, particularly of sensor networks,
* assistance in the preparation of externally funded projects.
It is desirable that these activities will lead to an independent scientific profile. Teaching contributions are expected especially within the fields of statistics, geo-statistics, GIS, data management, and environmental monitoring techniques as well as supervision of study projects and theses.
Requirements:
Applicants are expected to hold an advanced university degree and a PhD in geophysics, geoecology, geosciences, hydrology, soil science or other related disciplines, to be fluent in English and to have experiences in data and project management. In-depth knowledge of handling spatial data and time series analysis are required. Programming experiences as well as experience in the handling of databases are necessary. Good knowledge of recent development of environmental monitoring techniques is advantageous.
