This challenge awaits you:
Modern vehicles have an ever-increasing range of functions. Driver assistance systems, infotainment and connectivity in particular are leading to increasingly complex vehicle networking and a large amount of data being exchanged between sensors, control units and operating elements in the vehicle. This data is of great importance both in the development and testing of new vehicle projects and in the operation of series vehicles. The major challenge here is to extract the crucial information from the large volumes of data and to process and visualise it as required. IAV operates a measurement data management system on which vehicle measurement data can be stored, structured and automatically analysed. The analysis results are available to the user directly on this system and facilitate, for example, troubleshooting in vehicle systems or the validation and release of functions through to entire vehicle projects.
In an agile software development project, we are developing frameworks that facilitate the interactive analysis and visualisation of vehicle data and analysis results. Some of these frameworks are already in productive use at various customers, while others are still under development. As a working student, you have the opportunity to become part of an agile team and support us in the development of the analysis frameworks.
Your Tasks:
1. You implement features and bug fixes for an analysis framework as part of development sprints
2. You review the code of other team members
3. You test implemented features in both manual and automated tests
4. You take part in sprint and planning meetings
5. You are involved in the concept and idea phase for future developments
Necessary Skills:
6. Ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, computer science or automotive engineering
7. Extensive knowledge of Python
8. Experience with TypeScript/React (web) development
9. Experience with collaborative software tools (e.g. Git, GitLab)
10. Fluent in written and spoken English, good knowledge of German is helpful
11. Communication skills and ability to work in a team
12. Independent way of working
Desired Skills:
13. Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. in GitLab) desired
14. Experience with Kubernetes/Docker desired
15. Experience with framework development desired
