Fresenius Medical Care North America Director – Corporate Publications & Events (m/f/d) in Bad Homburg, Germany
Reporting to the Head of External Communications, the Director of Corporate Publications & Events will lead the development and execution of key external publications & events. This role will highlight and amplify FME’s global corporate contributions, including medical and clinical activities. The Director will be responsible for developing an editorial plan & event strategy that aligns with FME corporate objectives and will work directly with senior experts across the FME landscape to consistently deliver on that strategy in a variety of mediums.
Specifically, this role will direct the content development and lead the refinement of key annual publications, such as the Annual Report, Corporate Magazine, and Annual Medical Report. Additionally, this role will be tasked with directing event execution considered advantageous for FME involvement and collaborating with FME thought leaders to arrange and thoroughly support participation.
Your assignment:
1. Direct and manage the development and execution of a corporate publication and event strategy that aligns with FME global objectives.
2. Develop, write, and edit creative concepts, assets, and compelling copy for corporate communications, marketing collateral, web copy, email, social media, and other outlets to engage readers and users.
3. Direct editorial planning and strategy by participating in strategic planning and developing high-quality, innovative content and story ideas.
4. Direct the editorial development process for key FME publications & events – the Annual Report, Corporate Magazine & Annual Medical Report, AGM, CMD, etc. Adhere to editorial timelines that ensure timely publication or event execution.
5. Enable clear SME participation expectations to ensure timely submission and content alignment with intended outcomes.
6. Project manage the individual activities ensuring timely delivery and appropriate involvement of all necessary stakeholders.
7. Direct content editing, rigorously proofreading diverse and varied pieces of content for voice, organization, grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, flow, style, formatting, and clarity to deliver the highest-quality deliverables.
8. Develop productive collaborative relationships with all functions globally.
9. Fact-check references for all materials, ensuring that content is accurate and that all claims are supported.
10. Directly support functions in external event content preparation and best-practice presentation delivery.
11. Collaborate across centers of excellence and with strategic marketing planners, campaign managers, SEO experts, and digital producers to clarify business objectives, define key messages, and solve problems.
12. Bring all materials into alignment with company brand voice and preferred writing style guides.
13. Leverage a proactive, detail-oriented mindset to gather information, integrate feedback, and keep work moving from first draft to final approval.
Your profile:
1. Minimum Bachelor's degree or similar in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
2. Minimum 10 years of related experience in Corporate Communications and Public Relations.
3. Excellent collaboration and leadership skills with a can-do attitude.
4. Good digital channel knowledge.
5. Proven track record of editorial support; corporate editorial experience is a plus.
6. Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills are required.
7. Able to work within a matrix organization.
8. Strong organizational and process analysis skills are essential.
9. Must be able to work within virtual international project teams across broad-based projects.
10. Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.
