Job Summary
The Key Account Manager Retail DACH is responsible for driving growth, managing relationships, and leading the sales strategy for Redefine Meat’s retail accounts across the region. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven individual with a strong background in managing large retail accounts, building strong partnerships, and executing national sales strategies.
Your Challenge:
Account Management:
* Act as the primary contact for national retail accounts, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
* Build and sustain long-term relationships with key decision-makers within major retail chains.
* Identify and capitalize on new retail opportunities to expand Redefine Meat’s presence across the DACH region.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
* Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to drive market share growth and achieve revenue goals.
* Design and oversee promotional plans and retail marketing initiatives to enhance sales and brand visibility.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, supply chain, and operations) to ensure seamless product availability and alignment with customer needs.\
Category Management:
* Champion a consumer-first approach to understanding category strategies, even without a dedicated category management team.
* Define the role of the brand and SKUs to grow retail categories for customers using strategic frameworks like "play-to-win" and "play-to-participate."
Market Insights and Reporting:
* Monitor retail trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends.
* Deliver regular reports on account performance, market insights, and sales forecasts to senior management.
* Analyze sales data and customer feedback to refine product offerings and improve customer experience.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
* Lead negotiations on pricing, promotional terms, and distribution agreements with retail partners.
* Ensure all contracts align with company objectives and are fulfilled effectively.
Collaboration and Industry Representation:
* Work closely with marketing and product development teams to create tailored promotional materials and product offerings for retail customers.
* Represent Redefine Meat at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to enhance brand visibility and industry relationships.
What You’ll Need:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
* Fluency in both German and English.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in account management or sales, including at least 3 years managing key national retail accounts in the FMCG industry.
* Proven track record of growing revenue and managing complex retail partnerships with retailers such as Edeka, Rewe, Kaufland, or discounters (Aldi, Lidl, Penny).
* Experience in category management is a strong plus.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to use data for strategic decision-making.
* Familiarity with retail KPIs and sales performance metrics.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a hands-on approach.
