PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Test Control Officer (TCO) supports the U.S. Air Force voluntary off-duty education program by providing academic advisement, information, guidance, and administering various Air University (AU) test sessions. The role also includes conducting Department of Defense language exams, Airman Knowledge Tests (AKT), and handling associated administrative tasks. The TCO ensures the secure administration of tests, maintains testing materials, and assists students in educational degree selection. The position requires strong computer proficiency, customer service, and communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide academic advisement, information, and guidance to students.
* Administer AU tests, DoD language exams, and AKTs.
* Manage and secure both soft and hard copy test materials.
* Establish and maintain tutoring sessions for students.
* Assist students in selecting educational degree requirements.
* Conduct computer and workstation updates as needed.
* Generate reports and create/update soft and hard copy databases and newsletters.
* Maintain compliance with all appropriate Air Force and local command policies and publications.
* Maintain certificates of completion for required training and update as necessary.
* Participate in on/off-base training and maintain updated procedures in the education center.
* Support education center events, including academic programs, virtual education fairs, outreach events, and briefings.
* Provide administrative support, including answering calls, managing customer flow, and supporting educational programs.
* Assist in inspections and checklists, such as Staff Assisted Visits and Wing/Unit Inspections.
* Maintain a professional image, including appropriate dress, language, and workspace.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree from a U.S. Department of Education-accredited institution.
* Computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
* Preferred: Master's degree or 15-30 semester hours in counseling, secondary education, adult education, or a related field.
* Knowledge of standardized civilian educational and military testing programs.
* Must be able to qualify for a secret clearance (required for EPME).
