The role involves developing and maintaining the AFRICOM Federated Data Model using Cameo. The Data Modeler will collaborate with software developers, engineers, and product owners to create comprehensive models of CDIT data products, encompassing data architecture, software architecture, business processes, higher-level data flow diagrams, and system-of-system diagrams. This position requires working in a secure environment with data products on SIPR and maintaining a NIPR shell version for external outreach. The role also involves adherence to Scaled Agile methodologies, working in two-week sprints within twelve-week Program Increments. Essential Responsibilities and Activities: - Develop and Maintain Data Models: - Create and update the AFRICOM Federated Data Model using Cameo. - Collaborate with software developers, engineers, and product owners to model CDIT data products. - Data Product Modeling: - Work on various modeling levels, including data architecture, software architecture, business processes, higher-level data flow diagrams, and system-of-system diagrams. - Classified and Unclassified Work: - Handle data products focused on the Strategy-Plans-Operations-Assessment feedback loop, operating on SIPR. - Develop and maintain a NIPR shell version for external outreach to organizations such as the Joint Staff, Components, or other CCMDs. - Security and Clearance: - Work within secure spaces with TS-SCI clearance, as required by the role. - Operate Cameo on both NIPR and SIPR instances installed on AFRICOM machines in a TS-SCI space. - Integration with AFRICOM Departments: - Develop products like Force Laydown Placemat, Digital Campaigning, and Logistics products, integrating data from various AFRICOM departments (e.g., J1, J3, J4, J5, J8). - Agile Methodologies: - Follow Scaled Agile practices, participating in two-week sprints within twelve-week Program Increments. - Receive and complete assigned tickets each sprint, working across the team's data portfolio. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: - Engage with different AFRICOM departments and external organizations to ensure comprehensive data integration and model accuracy. Position / Candidate Requirements - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. ACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED. - Education: Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a Related Engineering Discipline. - Bachelor's Degree and 5 Years of progressive experience. - Three (3) Years of experience with Cameo Systems modeler/Cameo Enterprise Architect (required) - Experience developing behavioral and structural models in the Systems Modeling Language (SysML) for complex systems and software (required) - Strong Oral, Written and Presentation Skills with the ability and experience communicating directly with executive leadership. - Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams. - Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives. - Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio Skills is a plus. - Ability to travel internationally up to 25% - 50% of the time. Desired / Advantageous Qualifications: - Experience developing and maintaining architecture for complex systems such as Federated Data Models (preferred) - Experience importing and exporting XMI and other file formats to Cameo (preferred) - Experience importing and exporting database schemas from Cameo (preferred) - Two (2) years systems engineering or configuration management experience (preferred) - Experience with Advana or other data analytics platforms (preferred) - Experience with Hyperconverged architectures such as Cisco Hyper Flex, Nutanix, etc. Abilities: - Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. - Sitting for extended periods of time. - Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. - Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. - Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. - Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. - Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. - Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. - Identify and understand the speech of another person.
