The district of Oberhavel - located north of Berlin - is looking for the next possible date for a Head of Information Technology Department (m/f/d).
Our administrative headquarters and your future place of work is the district town of Oranienburg, which is very well connected and can be reached by S-Bahn and regional express train from the capital in just 20 minutes. The district of Oberhavel is a growth region and is one of the strongest economic districts in eastern Germany. Oberhavel is a modern technology and industrial location, which is also characterized by unspoiled nature, varied leisure, cultural and tourism offers and a heritage steeped in history.
The position is assigned to Department VI - Finance and IT.

Your exciting tasks will primarily include
* General management tasks
o Strategic management
o Controlling and ensuring target achievement based on performance and cost indicators as well as target agreements with employees
o Economical use of resources and cost responsibility
o Making decisions on prominent and interdisciplinary issues
o Determining fundamental decisions in the performance of tasks by the specialist services
o Representing the department vis-à-vis other authorities and institutions
* Specialist management tasks
o (Further) development of the district administration's IT strategy
o Deciding on high-profile and cross-departmental issues
o Participation in high-profile (digitization) projects
o Preparation of information and decision papers for the district council and the department management
You bring with you
* a university degree (diploma or master's degree) preferably in the field of computer science, business informatics or technology
* Alternatively, equivalent skills and experience
* Several years of management and leadership experience in a larger organizational unit with a focus on information technology
* At least three years of practical work experience
* Goal-oriented, cooperative leadership with an appreciative management philosophy
* Willingness to cooperate with the district administrator, the members of the department management and the employees of the district administration in a spirit of trust
