Location : Munich, Germany Position Overview Reporting to the Head of GmbH Finance Department, the Accountant is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate management of division financial operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations. This position will support the financial health and integrity of the division by providing timely and precise financial information, maintaining robust accounting controls, and facilitating effective financial decision-making. The Accountant is responsible for financial processes in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Key Responsibilities Responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable and related statements Generates accurate, consistent, and timely selected financial monthly reports/ quarterly (Intrastat, Order Revenue) Prepares commissions to external partners Administers and processes transactions in finance-related tools including AP-Management Tool Medius, ERP System M3 Secures, executes, and monitors all bank transactions Oversees accounts payable management (internal and external) and continuous compliance control Records financial transactions by entering account information Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures Collaborates with other departments by coordinating activities and addressing any questions Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions Supports the preparation of corporate special financial reports by collecting and summarizing account information Serve as the Travel Costs Examiner for selected colleagues, overseeing the process from validation to payment Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or related field required, Master's degree preferred 10 years of accounting/auditing experience with a solid understanding of accounting and financial statement reporting required, demonstrating progressively increasing responsibility Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with general ledger functions Hands-on experience with accounting software Inspirational team member with the ability to positively impact and motivate the team Proven ability to oversee all aspects of general ledger and financial statement preparation Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks in an ever-changing environment Strong technical skills including spreadsheets (Excel), financial analysis, and complex data interpretation Self-starter with a solutions-driven approach Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse stakeholders (internally and externally; executives, managers, and subject matter experts) to achieve common goals and results Full professional proficiency in German and English, both verbal and written Working Conditions/Physical & Mental Demands The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
