The Faculty of Law, Economics and Business of (Department of Business) of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg will be offering a tenure position as of 1.4.: W3-Professur „Business Administration, especially Financial Accounting“ We are looking for a research and teaching personality with outstanding research credentials and the capabilities to fully cover the complete subject of „Financial Accounting" in breadth and depth. It would be appreciated if the applicant’s individual research focuses would coincide with the university’s profile lines "Sustainability” and “Transformation” and foster the faculty’s approach regarding education and social commitment in the areas of "Sustainability, Digitalization and Governance". A suitable example for a desirable focal point in this respect might be located in the area of sustainability reporting. Previous experience and future preparedness to acquire third-party funding as well as an internationally research and teaching focus will complement the applicant’s profile. The incumbent will be responsibly participating in Bachelor and Master programs. As far as teaching will be concerned, the future incumbent will be expected to be able to cover basic areas of business administration as well as specialized subject matters in the area of financial accounting and should support teaching in the field of business taxation. In addition to the bachelor's degree program “Business Studies”, participation in teaching is also expected in the English-language bachelor's degree program “Business Economics” and in the master's degree programs. In the Master's degree program “Business Studies”, the professorship contributes to the vocational specialization (Vertiefungssäule) “Accounting and Finance”. The willingness and ability for disciplinary and interdisciplinary cooperation will be expected as well as the participation in academic self-administration and university committee cooperation. Applicants need to fulfil with the pre-conditions as specified in section 35 Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities (Hochschulgesetz Sachsen-Anhalt). Particular emphasis is placed on a Habilitation in the relevant field, or an equivalent level of scientific achievement and recognition. Candidates are expected to have attained the appropriate level of experience and pedagogical qualification. Respective publications and according professional track record will substantiate such qualification.
