What you will do As an Operational Excellence Specialist you follow-up on the adherence to the existing UPS operating standards (corporate branding, facility layout, system/equipment integration, communication, workforce training, methods & tools, and best practices) to identify any gaps in compliance for running operations as well new business implementations. Because you’re the crucial link in our warehouse operations management, you see opportunities for improvement based on process and data analysis and you initiate cost reduction initiatives where possible. As OE Specialist you will drive continuous improvement and change management, together with operations management and site continuous improvement teams. Responsibilities: Helps advance operational performance improvement within the assigned Country facilities of EMEA GLD Operations by serving as an onsite project manager, facilitator, consultant, analyst, and coach in Lean Events supporting annual OE program plan in line with OE strategy. Provides training and coaching to all levels of the operation on the use and practice of Lean methods and tools. Facilitates problem assessment, root cause analysis, team development, metrics design, and improvement implementation efforts to ensure all facility’s objectives can be met in Continuous Improvement Supports efficiency improvement by establishing a solid foundation around 5S in the workplace and implementing standard work to sustain performance. Supports the continued development of a Continuous Improvement Culture, focusing on eliminating abnormal flow, improving standard flow, and reducing cost. What you’ll need A bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management. A few years of working experience within supply chain operations, preferable team leader level. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience with a WMS or TMS system is a plus. Communication skills that allow you to communicate at all levels, both shop floor and leadership. Business proficiency in German and English, both oral and in writing. A driver's license (B) and the willingness to travel when necessary.
