Job Description
We are now looking for a
Master Student in Offshore Wind Resource & Production
located in our office in Hamburg.
What we are looking for:
This master thesis shall aim to investigate different MCP methods and their performance in providing a suitable time-resolved estimation of the long-term wind resource and production. To do so, the thesis will conduct several long-term wind resource corrections based on different MCP methods and settings and model park production using an inhouse developed wind farm and wake model. Finally, the park production predicted by the different MCP methods will be evaluated based on long-term measurements.
Key responsibilities and duties
* Wind Measurements: Analyse short-term and long-term wind measurements of the wind resource to gather appropriate datasets for verification.
* Measure-Correlate-Predict (MCP) Methods: Understand and use MCP methods to correlate short-term measurements with long-term wind resource data to predict long-term wind conditions.
* Investigate MCP Methods: Research and evaluate different MCP methods in conjunction with different reanalysis datasets to determine their accuracy in providing time-resolved estimations of long-term wind resource and production.
* Model Park Production: Utilize an in-house developed wind farm and wake model to simulate park production based on corrected long-term wind resource data.
