SAP authorization and access control protects our digital assets and manages user permissions for Symrise's global business operations to ensure security and compliance across the SAP ecosystem. The Group IT function has established specific roles and permissions for all users to safeguard applications and systems against external and internal threats.
As SAP Authorization Administrator, you will be responsible for managing proper SAP system configurations and maintaining SAP authorizations and roles globally to ensure authorized users have the necessary access rights to perform their assigned tasks efficiently and securely. This includes the regular review and auditing of SAP security and authorization procedures to identify access violations and potential vulnerabilities in our SAP systems.
Main responsibilities include:
Design, implement, and manage SAP roles and profiles on various SAP platforms such as ECC, S/4HANA
Monitor and maintain SAP system security, including user access and authorization, and analysis of authorization issues
Perform security administration tasks on SAP Support Portal and support User License Management, including annual measurements
Daily administration of new and existing SAP systems, data security, managing security for bolt-on tools to SAP systems based on Symrise IT Security framework
Perform maintenance and updates for active SAP systems, ensuring accurate role definitions and authorization checks
Process access requests for the different SAP systems GRC, including privilege access and user access reviews
Develop, maintain and enforce SAP security policies and procedures to ensure compliance
Deliver user training with special focus on SAP authorization guidelines and best practices
Provide support for SAP authorization incidents, troubleshooting, and security audits and risk assessments as appropriate
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Informatics or another related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
At least 5 years of practical experience in the administration of SAP authorizations and roles, preferably in the area of SAP GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance)
Sound knowledge of SAP security policies and practices
Professional, solution-oriented, and customer-focused approach
Strong analytical, prioritization, and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly and take initiative
Proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, global team
Excellent communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills in an international, multicultural environment
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential; Additional languages such as German, French or Spanish a plus
