Your role
1. Support the CCO Events Coordinator by carrying out tasks essential to the delivery of events (eg service orders, production of conference materials, venue preparation, speaker contact sheets, invitations, galleries, website updates)
2. Supporting with the creation, population and upkeep of event websites via content management systems
3. Carrying out assigned financial and organisational processes related to the conferences and courses
4. Supporting with the on-site coordination of events and support during the events themselves (eg. working at the event reception desk)
5. Work closely with the CCO Administrator to provide additional administrative support for the CCO team (eg: handling enquiries by phone and mail, inventory, assistance with social events or meetings organisation, liaison with internal services)
6. When required, working with customer relationship management databases and other events software on assigned tasks related to event registration, reviews, abstracts and other processes

You have
Your academic studies and/or your prior experiences will have prepared you to take on this role supporting the sponsorship element of EMBL's busy programme. The CCO needs enthusiastic team players with impressive abilities to self-organise and prioritise so that they can support multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Strong administrative, coordination and customer service skills underpin your ability to communicate with and gain the confidence of our scientists, industry partner companies and fellow service providers at EMBL.
13. Ideally applicants should have a minimum of 12 months office experience or internship/student job
14. Working fluency in English and basic German language proficiency essential
15. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite software packages
16. Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
17. Adept communicator and relationship builder
18. Excellent attention to detail

21. Relevant professional qualifications or degree level education (subjects related to events industry, or to business administration especially valued)
