We are pioneering the Large Deployable Antenna Technology development in Europe aiming European and worldwide markets. As an experienced and dedicated Contracts Officer (m/w/d), you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing our contracts. Your main responsibilities include preparing requests for tenders, evaluating offers, negotiating and administering contracts, and monitoring their execution. You will identify and resolve administrative, legal, and industrial challenges while collaborating closely with industry partners. Additionally, you will work directly with our technical departments, advising them on all procurement-related matters and ensuring that our contract strategies are effectively implemented.
Tasks
* Preparing requests for offers/invitations to tender.
* Participating in the evaluation of offers and tenders.
* Preparing and negotiating the resulting contracts.
* Monitoring the execution and performance of the contracts.
* Dealing with administrative, contractual, legal and industrial problems arising from the procurement concerned, involving regular and direct interaction with industry.
* Maintaining close liaison with and providing value added support to your assigned initiating services, who are technically responsible for their projects and advising them in all procurement-related matters.
Requirements
* 10+ years’ experience of contract matters gained in the European Space industry.
* Understanding of ESA’s legal environment, convention, rules, procurement regulations and policies.
* Knowledge of the European and international space sector (institutional, commercial and/or industrial).
* Cost structures and financial processes.
* The ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
* Excellent knowledge of German and English languages
* Understanding the European space policy and industrial chain
* Ability to understand and formulate contractual/legal texts in both German and English is an asset.
* Professional experience with the laws and regulations applicable to public procurement in the jurisdiction of at least one ESA Member State – knowledge of and experience in dealing with ITAR and dual use regulations
* A master’s degree in law is beneficial, additional degrees in economics/finance/business are an asset.
