We are seeking a dynamic sales leader with a passion for results and a drive to build something extraordinary from the ground up. The Group Director of Sales will take full ownership of our client’s commercial strategy across a growing portfolio of hotels. This is a rare opportunity to shape and lead the sales vision of a multi-property, internationally-branded hospitality group.
About the Role
Based within one of client’s flagship hotels in Düsseldorf, this role will focus on driving and overseeing all sales activities across the portfolio. Your mission: to develop and execute a results-driven commercial strategy that not only meets but exceeds revenue targets, while optimising every commercial touchpoint along the way.
The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Director of Operations, the hotel GMs, Property Sales Teams and the corporate Head Office team in London, to ensure local, area, and corporate strategies are fully synchronized and aligned.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces autonomy, and brings an entrepreneurial approach to leadership and sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing sales team across multiple locations
2. Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy for all properties
3. Drive revenue growth across MICE, Transient, and Corporate segments
4. Establish sales standards and streamline commercial processes across the portfolio
5. Collaborate with hotel and corporate stakeholders to ensure seamless alignment of local and global sales efforts
6. Analyse key business indicators, market trends, and competitive performance to inform strategic decisions
7. Represent the sales function to internal and external stakeholders with clarity and confidence
Candidate Requirements
1. Proven success as a senior commercial leader within a multi-property, international hotel group
2. Fluent in English and German
3. Deep understanding of local and international hospitality markets
4. Strong client relationship management and account development skills
5. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing sales teams
6. Expertise in MICE, Transient, and Corporate market segments
7. Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and reporting skills
8. Hands-on, proactive, and decisive with a positive, can-do attitude
9. Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, competitive market
10. Degree-level qualification in a hospitality-related discipline is preferred
