Job Title: Head of Sales – (Air & Sea Freight)
Location: Germany (Flexible, ideal locations: Hamburg, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Munich)
Salary: €90,000 - €110,000 + Bonus + Company Car
About the Company
Our client is a mid-sized, globally recognized freight forwarder, specialising in airfreight and sea freight solutions. With a strong presence in key international markets, the company is currently expanding its commercial team in Germany and is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to drive growth and build a world-class sales team.
Role Overview
As the Head of Sales, you will lead the commercial efforts in Germany, taking a hands-on approach to drive freight forwarding sales while overseeing and developing a growing sales team. This position requires a results-oriented leader with a passion for developing client relationships and building high-performing teams.
You will play a critical role in expanding the company’s market presence, establishing strategic partnerships, and ensuring the sales team achieves and exceeds targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales Leadership: Drive airfreight and sea freight sales activities across Germany, setting ambitious yet achievable targets for both yourself and the team.
* Team Management: Oversee, mentor, and grow a small, existing commercial team to maximize their potential and enhance performance.
* Client Relationship Management: Develop and nurture relationships with key customers, ensuring long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction.
* Strategic Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and grow revenue streams.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations and customer service, to ensure a seamless client experience.
* Market Analysis: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor activities, leveraging insights to guide sales strategies.
Requirements
* Proven track record of success in freight forwarding sales (airfreight and sea freight focus).
* Previous leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, manage, and grow a sales team.
* Strong understanding of the German logistics market and customer needs.
* Fluent in German (mandatory) and proficient in English.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently while aligning with company goals.
* Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally, as required.
