Job description
Are you a news hound with a knack for storytelling and a sharp eye on the global climate agenda? We’re looking for a Senior Climate Communications Manager to maximise our media impact, craft compelling messages, and translate complex science and policy analysis into accessible, engaging content for different audiences.
You’ll need to be strategic, politically savvy, and thrive in a fast-paced, reactive environment where the news cycle moves fast – and so do we. With deep experience in communications strategy and campaign development, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our messages cut through to influence international and national policy processes.
If you can spot the story and communicate it with clarity and impact, we want to hear from you.
Your responsibilities

Key duties:
* Develop and implement communication strategies on the 1.5°C issue and overshoot, false solution narratives and other challenges in the science/policy communication space
* Manage integrated communication actions, spanning media relations, social and digital communications and events
* Act as communications lead for key content areas, embedding within content teams to provide ongoing strategic guidance and propose impactful communication solutions
* Develop communication plans and concepts to engage audiences with project/research outputs
* Engage in proactive media relations, with a focus on developing and communicating messages distilled from research outputs
* Daily monitoring of climate news and engaging in reactive media work, identifying opportunities and working to shift harmful media narratives
* Write and produce press and digital materials, including press releases, media alerts, blogs, op-eds, web copy, and social media assets (infographics etc.)
* Support the communications activities of Climate Analytics’ global offices
* Develop and embed tools, templates and good communication practices through training and ongoing support to staff
* Provide creative input into project proposals in relation to communication activities
* Support the continuous improvement of the Climate Analytics website
* Shape the development of knowledge products to ensure consistently high-quality outputs, editing reports, writing executive summaries, and developing and executing engagement plans
* Uphold our brand identity across all channels, employing our house style, brand guide and industry best practice
* Build and maintain contacts and networks with journalists and other key stakeholders
* Contribute to the continual evaluation of communication performance, interpreting and presenting evaluation metrics and making recommendations
