The Signal and Information Processing (SIP) group participates in national and international research projects, addressing relevant topics in the fields of signal processing for mobile communications and radar systems. We are looking for a student assistant to participate in calibration and measurement tasks involving Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with advanced Software-Defined Radio (SDR) devices, RF measurements with high-end measurement instruments. For highly motivated students, this work can be extended to include development of code for SDR-based channel measurements. Be a part of our team and come on a journey of research and innovation!
What you will do
* Develop Python scripts for control of USRPs and other measurement instruments.
* Perform calibration of USRP devices to ensure accurate control over power levels.
* Perform antenna reflection loss measurements using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
* Systematically document the results and create a report (documentation).
* [Conditional] Develop code for channel measurements and student experiments with USRPs.
What you bring to the table
