An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scientific Affairs Lead to help transform cancer patients' real-life experiences into Real-World Evidence (RWE) that drives smarter care and improves outcomes. These insights support regulatory decision-making, market access, and research use cases. As an independent affiliate of the Roche Group, the company's multidisciplinary team includes oncologists, data scientists, epidemiologists, and product experts.
The role: As a Scientific Affairs Lead, the successful candidate will support life science companies in Germany, collaborating with teams across the globe to address research questions in clinical development, market access, and commercial use cases. The role involves building relationships with stakeholders, engaging with clients, and facilitating research projects with partner hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage with pharmaceutical clients to understand their evidence generation needs and demonstrate how RWE capabilities can meet those needs
* Build strong relationships with RWE stakeholders in pharmaceutical companies across Germany and Europe
* Support the development and pitching of tailored RWE research projects
* Collaborate with senior researchers at partner hospitals to facilitate the development, execution, and publication of oncology research projects
* Work with Data Science teams to understand the German RWE landscape and develop fit-for-purpose research methods
* Represent the company at conferences and through scientific publications, liaising with HTA bodies and opinion leaders to strengthen the company's positioning in the German RWE ecosystem
Experience and qualifications: The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills and 3-5 years of industry experience, particularly in oncology and RWE.
* Proficiency in German (C1/C2) and English (C1)
* 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or in providing analytical products and services to pharma clients (e.g., market access, HEOR consulting)
* Expertise in outcomes research and RWE methodology, ideally in oncology
* Familiarity with concepts such as propensity score matching, confounder adjustment, sensitivity analysis, and MAIC
* A PhD in a quantitative and/or medical discipline (e.g., public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, (bio)medicine, biology, or a related field)
* Exceptional scientific communication skills, with experience delivering high-impact presentations
* Proven ability to pitch complex, high-value projects to diverse audiences
Optional Qualifications:
* Experience translating statistical analysis plans into R code and generating descriptive and inferential statistics
* Experience working with EHR-based Real World Data
