Job Description
Primary Function of Position:
The Customer Trainer will report directly to the Senior Manager or Training Manager for their region. This training professional will deliver da Vinci System technology training and facilitate surgeon-led training for surgeons, first assistants, and OR staff from a variety of surgical specialties including urology, gynecology, general surgery thoracic and Trans-oral surgery. The Customer Trainer will be actively involved in the continuous improvement of training programs and provide support for customer training, engineering, and training research initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct da Vinci and Ion training programs for surgeons, physicians, and their care teams at designated training centers and remote centers
2. Lead and support Specialized training programs and Society events
3. This includes supporting the needs of the surgeon educators and course participants Conduct surveys to gather data and measure program effectiveness
4. Act as subject matter expert for internal projects, as needed
5. New product development Training material/ protocol development
6. Training research initiatives Work with the Training team in a creative, dependable, and flexible manner to improve existing training programs
7. Train the sales force to conduct in-services and system technology skills development activities with customers on new and established products
8. Occasional support of the da Vinci System in a hospital operating room
9. Support da Vinci Surgical System troubleshooting and maintenance at the training center
10. Manage training center logistics, inventory and training calendars
11. Maintain all capital equipment, including but not limited to the cleaning and sterilization of instruments and accessories
12. Support positive relationships between external training center personnel and ISI management
13. Contribute to the organization’s quarterly goal achievements
14. Develop competency in the following: da Vinci System and Ion Technology, da Vinci System applications and advanced technology, OR Efficiency, Training Pathway process
15. Act as a Medical Device Consultant (Medizinprodukteberater) in Austria and Germany, after appropriate training, as per legal requirement and provide guidance, insight, and support in the proper handling of Intuitive medical devices
16. Maintaining competency and currency on technology training protocol following the onboarding program guidelines, and annual competency check
17. Training/coaching techniques/methodologies
18. Travel required
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
19. Professional Training experience preferred
20. Clinical and/or operating room experience preferred
21. High capacity and excellent problem solving skills
22. Solid organizational skills and ability to operate independently
23. Professional work ethic
24. Solution oriented
25. Excellent oral and written communication skills
26. Strong interpersonal skills
27. Knowledge of adult learning principles preferred
28. High capacity to learn in a fast paced environment
29. Medical-device experience preferred
