The project development team is responsible for the development of large battery projects in the European markets with the aim of bringing them to construction maturity and selling the projectrights to investors who rely on the system integration/ EPC expertise of SMA Altenso for theconstruction of the plants. Cooperation with local authorities, grid operators and projectdevelopment partners are important activities of the team you will be working in.
Your contribution to the big picture
1. You qualify and develop battery storage projects in selected markets, from initial assessment to start of construction
2. You lead the identification of potential co-development partners or opportunities and drive negotiations to structure collaborations
3. You drive the development and management of strategic relationships with local project stakeholders, network operators and authorities as well as the advancement of technical and commercial progress in close coordination with internal departments and external project stakeholders
4. Contract negotiations, structured communication on the budget and schedule status as well as the financial analysis and modeling of projects business case are also part of your tasks
5. You observe and evaluate new target markets with regard to the business case for battery storage and the respective local project opportunities
Required skills
6. University degree in economics, business administration, finance, renewable energy or another relevant technical-economic background
7. Experience in developing renewable energy projects, M&As and a strong understanding of the market fundamentals that influence investment decisions in this sector
8. Ideally experience with PV and battery systems and initial knowledge of the European electricity markets in terms of grid ancillary services and revenue streams relevant for the battery storage projects business case
9. Structured, independent and proactive way of working as well as a high level of commitment, teamwork and presentation skills for effective communication with management
10. The willingness to travel within Europe and internationally completes your profile
