Job Description
As a Team Lead Category Management your work will include the following tasks:
1. To steer a team of Global Category Managers covering group of Categories on the BA level
2. To make sure that all the category goals / strategies and actions are in line with the BA strategy and the internal needs.
These tasks are divided into the following areas:
Strategy:
3. To make a logical segmentation of the Group of Categories to have a balanced workload within the team of Global Category Managers.
4. To support, check and approve the Purchasing Strategies for each Category.
5. To make sure that the Category strategies are compatible to each other, in line with BA strategy and implemented according to the plan.
6. To present and align the strategies with BA stakeholders.
Commercial:
7. To support the Global Category Managers for complex supplier negotiations if necessary and any kind of business escalation.
8. To check and approve contracts defined by the Global Category Managers.
Management:
9. To manage the team of Global Category Managers in order to achieve the defined goals.
10. To identify potential development and provide the necessary training programs / coaching.
11. To define priorities in order to use available resources efficiently.
12. To support Global Category Manger for various escalation topics.
Reporting:
13. Share market situation with stakeholders
14. To report Categories performance in regular base
15. Forecast expected price development.
Qualifications
16. Master Degree; in exceptional cases an equivalent professional experience
17. At least several years in Purchasing or equivalent, thereof a few years in automotive industry
18. Project Management experience is a plus
19. At least a few years leading remote teams or equivalent leading remote project teams
20. At least several years exposure to international business
21. Experience of living abroad is a plus
22. Fluent English and good German language skills (written and spoken)
23. Business trip to be expected (up to 30% of working time max)
