What you’ll do & Who you are
Director Product: Marketplace
The Director Product is responsible for all aspects of the product development within the Marketplace business unit - which is the core of the Kleinanzeigen product experience for buyers and private/professional sellers and advertisers. You will be in charge of defining the product vision & strategy for the marketplace business unit and breaking it down into concrete directions for the different product domains in close alignment with the CPO and the business unit leadership team.
The Director Product will lead 4-6 product crews, each one led by a Head of Product covering critical product domains. You will oversee the development and management of the business unit's product portfolio, from ideation to launch, iteration, and maintenance. You can easily translate business priorities, user needs, and market trends into product outcomes and set clear KPI targets for teams to achieve the desired outcome. You are an experienced product leader that inspires others and the product organization as a whole, pushing forward the boundaries to get from good to great. You will lead and coach other leaders and set clear directions in bringing the product forward to meet user needs and business results.
The Director Product is part of the cross-functional marketplace business unit leadership team and reports directly to the CPO.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and execution of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the marketplace business unit.
2. Collaborate within the cross-functional business unit leadership team to align product strategies with business unit goals.
3. Play an active role within the CPO leadership team in defining and further developing the overall product vision, strategy, and product culture at Kleinanzeigen.
4. Manage and mentor a team of product leaders and managers and help them to grow and succeed in their roles.
5. Ensure our customer's needs are central to product decisions by leveraging user insights, data analytics, and market trends.
6. Define success metrics for product initiatives, track product performance, and continuously improve based on main insights.
Qualifications:
1. 8+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role, including leading other product leaders.
2. Proven track record of successfully managing product portfolios and teams at a senior level.
3. Experienced in the classified/eCommerce industry, understanding the market, benchmarks, and main trends.
4. Expertise in product development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
5. Inspirational management skills to guide and motivate product & tech teams.
6. Customer-focused mindset in combination with business & financial acumen.
7. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive innovation and growth.
8. Adaptability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced and constantly evolving industry.
