* Analysis of structural properties of backscatter closures for global ocean models
* Combination of mathematical proof and numerical experiments
* Justification and enhancement of parametrizations
About the Requirements
* Excellent master's degree in Applied Mathematics or a closely related field
* Specialization in analysis of PDEs, numerical analysis, fluid dynamics, or approximation theory
* Strong interest in working in a multi-disciplinary research environment
* German language skills not required, but encouraged
