Your role
As Scientist Data Analysis in the Cell & Molecular Biology Team in S&C Global Innovation Cosmetic Ingredients you will support and evolve activities to implement a unified R&D data platform in the group. The tasks range from setting up suitable data models for scientific data sets to establishing data analysis workflows for the generation of results and insights, facilitating efficient, data-driven decision making processes in the R&D environment.
Additionally, you will support the ongoing process of Digital Transformation in the group by providing solutions for identified needs and closing gaps in the digital landscape.
1. Support and drive implementation of the R&D data platform
2. Conceptualize and implement data models suitable to scientific experimental data
3. Design and execute ETL processes for legacy data to match the implemented data models
4. Develop and validate data analysis workflows
5. Maintain and administrate the platform after implementation and go-live
6. Design and implement dashboards for stakeholders to support data-driven decisions
7. Develop and roll out solutions in the process of Digital Transformation in the Cell & Molecular Biology Team and the whole Global Innovation Cosmetic Ingredients group
8. Align and build networks with data science colleagues across Symrise
About you
9. Bachelor Degree (or higher) either in life science (or related areas) or computer sciences
10. Strong background in data science/data analytics with emphasis on scientific datasets
11. Experience in workflow development (KNIME or similar tools)
12. Coding skills (Python, R, etc.) desirable
13. Working knowledge of SQL would be an advantage
14. Pro-active and solution-oriented work style
15. Good communication skills
16. English and German language skills required
