Role purpose As a Backup Solutions Administrator, you will design, implement, manage, and maintain backup and recovery systems. Your responsibilities will include creating and managing robust backup solutions, collaborating with system and database administrators, and other IT professionals to develop and enforce backup policies. You will perform regular backups and ensure swift data recovery in case of data loss or system failures. Key responsibilities Backup System Management Design, implement, and maintain backup solutions. Manage backup software, hardware, and storage resources. Monitor backup processes and troubleshoot issues. Backup Policies and Procedures Develop and enforce backup policies for consistent data protection. Regularly review and update backup policies to align with best practices. Data Recover Plan and execute data recovery operations for data loss or system failures. Regularly test recovery procedures to meet RTO and RPO. Ensure compliance with data security policies and implement encryption. Performance Monitoring and Optimization Monitor and optimize backup system performance. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Documentation and Support Maintain documentation of backup configurations and recovery plans. Generate reports on backup status, performance, and compliance. Collaborate with system administrators, database administrators, and other IT staff. Skills Professional Experience Proven experience as a Backup Administrator or in a similar role. Technical Expertise Strong knowledge of backup and recovery software and technologies (e.g. Veeam, Commvault). Familiarity with servers systems and data protection methodologies. Skilled in monitoring backup systems and optimizing performance. Ability to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in backup and recovery processes. Cloud Migrations and Centralizations: Knowledge of cloud-based backup services, architecture, and best practices for scalability and performance. Expertise in planning and executing data recovery operations. Knowledge of disaster recovery procedures and best practices.
