The Position As Lead Human Pharma Public & Government Affairs, you will join a dynamic team dedicated to engaging with policymakers around the world to enable the access and uptake of lifechanging pharmaceutical innovation. As part of the Public & Government Affairs function in the Corporate Affairs division, you will deliver integrated campaigns to drive meaningful policy change in particular areas of healthcare. This position is based at our Global Headquarters in Ingelheim, Germany. Tasks & responsibilities - As the Public & Government Affairs expert, in alignment with colleagues in the Corporate Affairs division, you will ensure we develop and implement integrated campaigns. In support of our established portfolio and future launches, you will establish alliances for awareness raising and targeted policy prioritization. - One of your key tasks will be policy and stakeholder mapping to ensure the company has an informed position for key therapeutic areas within the Human Pharma business. You will lead on the creation of clear policy position papers and wider evidence generation to enable global and country teams to engage with policymakers. - You will enable Public & Government Affairs capabilities and execution with a particular focus on the EU5, US, China and Japan. - Moreover, you will support the Head of Public & Government Affairs to coach country teams in the development of clear strategic and tactical plans with measurable policy outcomes. - You will be the main contact person for assigned therapeutic areas and other partners in the Human Pharma business. You will provide clear strategic counsel and be recognized as an expert in international health policy and country-level policy change. - You will establish strong cross-functional relationships with teams including Market Access, Medical, Marketing, Legal and Compliance. Requirements - Master's degree in politics, Health Policy, Sciences, Economics, Legal, or equivalent qualification - Several years' experience in a Public & Government Affairs role, potentially in-house, a consultancy or directly in Government - Deep understanding of healthcare policymaking at a national and global level, including the role of the pharmaceutical sector in general and linked to specific therapeutic areas - Business know-how to succeed in a global, matrixed organization, able to lead without direct management responsibility - Demonstrable experience of delivering integrated campaigns to drive meaningful policy change - Extensive experience in external networking to build meaningful relationships - A true project leader with a co-creative mindset and the ability to build trust across the business - Experience of ensuring successful delivery in line with the Legal and Compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry - Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
