Task description:
Carrying out research and teaching in the field of "Systems Science in the Bioeconomy".
The task of the professorship is basic research on
* Development of methods in the field of systems science in bioeconomy systems, especially including System-based model development Creation of hybrid solutions between mechanistic/process-based and data-driven models, including digital twins Between product-related models and models of the natural and technological environment Between domains (horizontal; within (cascading) value creation networks) and system levels (vertical; across hierarchical levels)
or related and relevant other tasks
* Method development in the field of data-driven or process-based modeling and respective calibration methods in bioeconomy
* Transfer of developed models and digital twin concepts into technological solutions and pilot tests together with industrial partners
The professorship will take over the lead of the new working group "Systems Science in the Bioeconomy" and the establishment of the new research field "Systems Science in the Bioeconomy" at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy. There is the possibility of cooperation within the program areas and departments of the ATB. Places of employment are Potsdam and Osnabrück.
The successful candidate will teach in the Bachelor study programs "Environmental Systems Science" and in the Master study program "Environmental Systems and Resource Management" at Osnabrück University for 2 semester hours per week.
The holder of the position is expected to participate in the activities of the Joint Lab "KI.DS - Artificial Intelligence and Data Science" established between ATB and Osnabrück University.
