We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student assistant to contribute to our research project focused on humanitarian operations. This short-term role involves critical data collection and analysis to support ongoing research efforts. This is a part-time position for 2 weeks in September / October.
Your Responsibilities
1. Access and review data from a specified humanitarian operations website.
2. Identify and document disasters classified under the "yellow" category.
3. Record relevant disaster data in an Excel file and match them with corresponding codes from another website.
4. Verify if a final report is available for each correlated disaster and extract the total cost from these reports.
5. Organize and save the final reports in designated folders for further analysis.
As a Research Assistant, your work will significantly contribute to the successful collection and organization of data, which is crucial for the completion of our research project.
Your qualifications
6. Academic Background: Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program.
7. Language Proficiency: Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
8. Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with online data platforms.
9. Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously collect, record, and verify data.
10. Availability: Must be available to commit to the project for 20-30 hours over a period of one to two weeks, starting in September 2024.
