About the role
We are seeking a Service Manager to join the UK team in this newly created role. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Field Service Engineers, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and the delivery of high-quality service. The successful candidate will manage customer installations, maintenance, and repairs, act as the first escalation point for service issues, and support the development of the team.
Additionally, they will promote health and safety compliance and contribute to maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction. This role includes a balance of team leadership and hands-on service work.

Who we are looking for
We are looking for an organised and proactive individual with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, capable of managing competing priorities effectively.
The ideal candidate will bring:
* A degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
* Relevant experience in installations, maintenance, or repair of scientific instruments, preferably IRMS or related analytical equipment.
* Experience in a management or team leadership role (preferable but not essential).
* Familiarity with scheduling tools and staff management systems.
* An understanding of compliance requirements, including health and safety.
* A commitment to developing team members and fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
Duties & Responsibilities
As the Service Manager (Team Lead), you will lead and manage the EUK service team, ensuring efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and high-quality service delivery across UK territories. You will act as the first point of escalation for customer issues related to installations, maintenance, and repairs, while collaborating with the sales team to plan and execute installations, ensuring site readiness and customer satisfaction.
Your role will include promoting health and safety compliance, supporting the professional development of the team, and managing team availability through effective scheduling and time-off management.
Additionally, you will oversee customer documentation requirements, service contracts, and staff training, while performing approximately 30% of planned and ad hoc service visits.
Maintaining a high standard of service, fostering team development, and delivering an excellent customer experience are central to this role.
