Clinical Customer Development Specialist is expected to support PCT (Procalcitonin) utilization strategies in healthcare settings, that help achieve optimal patient and health economics outcomes by advancing the diagnosis of bacterial infection and supporting antibiotic stewardship initiatives.
This role is responsible for growing clinical demand of PCT across the region through discovery, engagement, education & training of clinical and laboratory customers. The person in the role will also develop close working relationships with partnering IVD laboratory diagnostics equipment providers.
A day in the life:
1. Take responsibility for account profiling, targeting and development of healthcare settings within designated region; Build relationships with key customers from Laboratory Leadership and Clinical Leads, including but not limited to Infectious Disease, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Antibiotic Stewardship Committees
2. Work with License Partners, within territory of responsibility to coordinate activities with target accounts
3. Gain agreement from key hospital/healthcare setting stakeholders for broad test utilization, achieve hospital-wide protocol adoption and implementation
4. Analyze account dynamics to gain a deep understanding of customer objectives and customer clinical challenges; Use clinical insights to build and implement education programs.
5. Deliver education programs through 1:1 presentation and clinical sessions
6. Collaborate with regional Scientific Liaisons, Medical Affair & Marketing teams to provide clinical insights that support message development for presenting and differentiating the clinical value of PCT assay.
7. Assures that all training, presentations, and discussions are consistent with approved product indications for use
8. Be representative of Thermo Fisher during local, regional, national, and international meetings and events
9. Be accountable to an annual operating growth plan as well as individual performance related to specific activity metrics
10. Update relevant business data to ensure full utilization of customer relationship management tool (SFDC) as the single source of truth
The keys to success:
Education
11. Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare/Medical Sciences, Biochemistry or related field is required; PhD degree is preferred
Experience
12. 3 + years Healthcare experience, with a preference of experience in either: diagnostic lab settings, clinical demand related, customer development or key account experience
13. Clinical/scientific background preferred
14. Experience in Health Economics preferred
15. Proven track record in cross-functional healthcare environment preferred
16. Built positive relationships with key customers and partners to impact business growth
17. Experience in healthcare customer segmentation and account mapping preferred
18. Experience engaging and influencing decision makers from different healthcare settings such as laboratory, pharmacy, ICU, ED and hospital administration preferred
19. Experience in analysis and assessment of training and development needs for target customers preferred
20. Experience with conducting customer training preferred

24. Able to establish and develop strong and lasting customer and partner relationships
25. Experience in working in matrix organization
26. Ability to travel extensively and as needed; minimum travel is > 50%
27. Proficient with SFDC CRM, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
