Your role: We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual with a strong scientific background and experience in modelling of organic materials to join our Material Research Team in Performance Materials, Display Solutions. As scientist in material research, you design new OLED materials to meet our display customer´s requirements. You work in an interdisciplinary and multicultural team, where collaboration within and beyond the team and projects is essential. As a display modelling expert, you seek deep understanding and bring new ideas to the team in order to foster innovation. As part of your responsibilities, you will conduct computer simulations ranging from quantum chemistry on single molecule level over molecular mechanics for ensembles up to OLED device simulations including energy and charge-transfer with the main goal to understand structure-property relations. You will work in close contact with synthesis and device experts located in Darmstadt and Asia to accelerate improving our transport/host/emissive materials. You will explain your work internally but also externally, e.g. to our Asian customers. Who you are PhD in Chemistry, Physics or similar, with significant experience in an OLED related field Profound experience in at least one of the following fields: quantum chemistry (excited-state methods), molecular mechanics, device simulation (drift-diffusion, kinetic Monte Carlo) Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams Basic programming knowledge and ability to create workflows (bash/python or similar) very good German and English skills
