The Opportunity
Drawing on your professional experience, you will specialize in understanding the business usage of information technology and allowing technology to contribute to the business. You will have a focus on contributing to the development of enterprise application standards, strategies and plans, and on eliciting requirements and delivering solutions according to identified needs in collaboration with different partners. Based on sound analysis, you will provide technical guidance and lead the technical implementation and support the adoption and ongoing use of application systems while following CSL governance standards. Also, You will contribute to the definition and maintenance of a functional, reliable, and cost-effective technology environment for the areas assigned and for identifying improvements. The colleague in this role will work unsupervised on projects and problems of complex scope and may coordinate the activities of others. May perform as a Developer using an approved software programming language to implement global IT strategy.
The Role
Analyze and Define Requirements
Responsible for the analysis and visualization of complex business processes. Accountable for the elicitation and evaluation of our requirements in collaboration with multiple stakeholders and translates these into functional requirements of the target solution. Establish scope and parameters of systems analysis to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions. Lead a team using internal and external resources to deliver systems evaluations and solution design. May mentor other Analysts or Developers.
Draft and Designing
Accountable and responsible for identifying the design and architecting or coding the target solution and preparing the required system design documentation (architectural specifications, diagrams and charts, functional and configuration specifications) to ensure the visualization of the technical implementation of user requirements, and to provide direction to system programmers. Collaborate with Infrastructure specialists and direct to deliver the target technology environment.
Implement the design by means of configuration and software development using internal and external resources. May mentor other Analysts or Developers and perform peer reviews of design solutions or coding to further develop standards.
Test and Validation
Compile validation planning in agreement with a Quality position. Manage the implementation of the defined measures in the validation plan. Prepare test cases and coordinates test reports in collaboration with other departments observing CSL defined quality and governance standards and procedures. Collaborate with Process Owners/Business stakeholders to ensure test applicability. Conduct system functional testing with internal or external resources. Contribute to the identification of enterprise standard approaches to testing and validation applicable to the CSL framework.
Training
Prepare training materials and user manuals. Design and conduct user training sessions, with emphasis on relating the configuration and technical setup to the business requirements and defined CSL enterprise application standards. Help identify enterprise standard approaches to Training as applicable to the CSL framework.
Operations and Support
Accountable for the ongoing operation and maintenance of applications for the assigned IT areas, including the definition and monitoring of the measures to ensure system availability. Accountable for the provision of 2nd or 3rd level incident support, change management, and maintaining the upkeep of technical records and documentation. Communicate the status of ongoing daily support and problem resolution. Ensure problem investigations and resolution of issues of complex scope and escalate issues when needed to appropriate levels of IT or Business. May provide off hours support as it relates to the IT functional area.
Project Work
Define or lead a project team for complex, business critical projects. Perform matrix roles as assigned for local and global projects in areas within and outside core area of proficiency. Define scope, plans, and manages projects involving the technical solution including data sourcing, migration, design, implementation, and quality assurance.
Teamwork and Leadership
Lead by example in working collaboratively with internal employees, vendors, and consultants to implement solutions. Develop mutually productive relationships in the workplace. Use a network of main contacts within and outside the Technology area for the benefit of the team.
May contribute to the definition and planning of team targets and strategy and coordinate the activities of others to deliver these. May contribute to departmental budget and resource planning.
Innovation
Direct and conduct research and evaluation on new solutions, releases, enhancements and considers their applicability to CSL.
Lead the identification and implementation of means to improve the qualities and efficiencies of IT processes, systems, and results. Keep informed about current technologies, associated strategies and professional concepts as it relates to the assigned IT functional area.
Maintain Regulatory Compliance
Follow global IT procedures and policies as defined by our Quality Management System (QMS). Follow the appropriate global regulatory guidelines and current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
Strategic
Contribute to the development of enterprise-wide technical strategies, designs, and plan that support Business strategies and the development of the Application Portfolio. Work constructively to support changes to policies, procedures and standards relating to the enterprise application landscape. May define or manage coding standards for Development. Manage relationships with Application vendors according to CSL stakeholders.
Enterprise Architecture
Accountable to Enterprise Architecture for conformance and alignment to EA enterprise-wide systems strategies and standards relating to the enterprise application landscape. Participate in the EA System Architect (EASA) Forum.
Your Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; educational concentration in a computer-based discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems) or a technical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics) is preferred. Master’s Degree is preferred.
2. 8+ years of experience in IT working within an applicable function that directly aligns with the responsibilities for this position.
3. Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience preferred.
4. Work with Microsoft Office products, such as Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Excel, and Visio.
5. Knowledgeable working in the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
6. Ability to develop others on business process, and knowledge across several departments.
7. Business Systems Analyst & Solution Architect related Functional/Technical Skills.
