For our PHOENIX Competence Centre IT & Digital we are looking for a Lead SAP BASIS Solution Architect (m/f/d) as of 01.01.2025. This position can be filled at one of our locations in Mannheim, Fürth (Nuremberg) or Sofia.
Your Tasks
1. SAP Architecture Design. Develop and maintain SAP system architecture in collaboration with infrastructure and BASIS teams. Design and document system landscapes, environments, and configurations to meet business needs.
2. SAP Archiving and Content Management. Manage SAP archiving processes. Develop and implement content management strategies, incorporating IBM Content Manager or similar systems, to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Ensure compliance with data retention policies and regulations.
3. Technical Leadership. Provide technical leadership to a team of SAP BASIS administrators. Mentor and guide team members in best practices and effective problem-solving techniques.
4. SAP BASIS Administration. Oversee and perform all aspects of SAP BASIS administration, including system installations, upgrades, configurations, and patch management. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal system health.
5. Client and Stakeholder Communication. Engage with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into SAP technical solutions. Communicate technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Your Profile
6. Education and Experience. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in SAP BASIS administration, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or architectural role.
7. Technical Skills. Deep knowledge of SAP BASIS, including SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, SAP Solution Manager, and other SAP components. Experience with SAP archiving and content management, specifically using SARA and IBM Content Manager or similar tools. Strong understanding of SAP system landscapes, databases, and operating systems (such as Linux, Windows, and Unix). Experience with SAP Java stack. Experience with SAP BTP highly desired.
8. Certifications. SAP BASIS certification or other relevant SAP certifications are highly desirable.
9. Leadership and Team Management. Proven experience in leading teams and managing projects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
10. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and provide effective solutions. Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail.
11. Adaptability and Learning. Ability to adapt to changing technologies and business requirements. Eagerness to learn and apply new concepts and tools in SAP administration.
12. Communication. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience in writing technical documentation.
13. Fluent in English (spoken and written) with clear communication skills.
14. German language (spoken and written) would also be an advantage.
