YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Program Leadership and Oversight :
o Serve as the Supervisory Point of Contact for victim advocacy services, ensuring comprehensive support for victims of domestic abuse and those affected by Problematic Behavior – Child and Youth (PSB-CY).
o Conduct regular reviews and analyses of program operations ensuring seamless service delivery, even during position vacancies.
o Develop and implement contingency plans to maintain consistent service standards during staffing changes and / or other challenges.
2. Staff Supervision :
o Supervise contracted Victim Advocates (VAs) ensuring compliance with DoD regulation guidelines.
o Facilitate professional development and oversee performance, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
3. Training and Recruitment :
o Recruit and train Exceptional Family Member Program and Emergency Placement Care (EPC) providers in accordance with DoD regulations.
o Submit detailed volunteer recruitment plans and logs to Contracting Officer (COR) within established timelines.
o Maintain accurate records of provider utilization, recruitment dates, training, and assignments.
4. Collaboration and Community Engagement :
o Work collaboratively with military and civilian personnel, including law enforcement, medical staff, social services, and legal teams, to support victim advocacy.
o Educate Soldiers, Commanders, and civilian staff concerning the most effective responses to domestic abuse.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :
Education :
* Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, behavioral science, or related field.
Experience :
* At least three (3) years of supervisory experience within a social service program.
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in victim advocacy, including crisis intervention and safety planning.
* One (1) year of EPC coordination experience within a military Family Support Center or equivalent civilian agency.
Licensure & Certifications :
* Certification in Victim Advocacy is preferred.
Knowledge and Expertise :
* In-depth understanding of family violence dynamics, safety planning, and risk assessments.
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to domestic abuse and victim rights.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office for creating reports, documentation, and training materials.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills :
* Ability to develop trusting relationships and effectively communicate with diverse groups.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting, documentation development, and training purposes.
Leadership :
* Proven leadership capabilities, with the ability to supervise, motivate, and support a team of victim advocates.
* Ability to manage complex programs ensuring alignment with mission goals.
Service Mentality :
* Deep commitment to supporting victims and their families, with a focus on empathy, respect, and advocacy.
* Passion for delivering high-quality services and improving the lives of those affected by family violence.
WORK CONDITIONS :
* This position requires flexibility to operate during extended hours. Flexibility for on-call hours may be required to meet mission needs.
Schedule :
* Standard hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.
Physical Requirements :
* Ability to lift and transport materials for events and displays.
* Mental and physical readiness to manage high-pressure situations involving victims and their families.
Travel Requirements :
* Must be available for regional on-call travel to provide VA and PSB-CY services (within a fifty (50) mile radius).
* Long-distance travel may be required for training, including one (1) Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) and one (1) Continental United States (CONUS) annual event.
