Wind Energy Analyst

We are looking for a skilled Wind Energy assessment analyst to join the team and help optimize wind energy production.
Role Overview:
You will analyze wind data from met masts, SoDAR, and LiDAR, focusing on wind speed, direction, and turbulence. You’ll work with the procurement team to manage wind measurement campaigns and use software like WindPRO to model wind farm layouts and estimate energy production. You’ll also assess metrics using GIS tools to optimize turbine placement and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyze wind data (wind speed, direction, turbulence) from met masts, SoDAR, and LiDAR.
* Collaborate with the procurement team on wind measurement campaigns.
* Use WindPRO or similar software to model wind farm layouts and estimate energy production.
* Visualize data using GIS and analysis tools.
* Optimize turbine placement by modeling wake effects and applying optimization algorithms.
* Evaluate site features (topography, land use) for optimal turbine locations.
* Prepare feasibility reports, including meteorological assessments and shadowing effects.
* Write internal reports for reviews and decision-making.
* Conduct site inspections as needed.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Atmospheric Science, Mathematics, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in Wind Energy Yield Assessment (EYA).
* Proficient in WindPRO or similar software (experience with post-construction energy yield assessments is a plus).
* Strong understanding of wind flow and statistical data analysis.
* Skilled in GIS and other data analysis tools.
* Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and energy analysis software.
* Business fluent in English (German is a plus).
* Strong communication and negotiation skills, and ability to work well in teams.
