ROLE
The Technical Director is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the technical and engineering aspects of lightweight structures, facades, and innovative architectural projects.
This individual drives the development of cutting-edge engineering solutions, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with industry standards, and alignment with the company's strategic goals.
The Technical Director serves as the key technical authority, leading a multidisciplinary team and collaborating closely with clients, project stakeholders, and internal departments.
Responsibilities And Requirements
1. Strategic Technical Leadership:
o Develop and articulate the company’s technical roadmap to support strategic objectives, ensuring alignment with evolving industry trends and business goals.
o Establish a clear framework for implementing technical innovation across projects, fostering a culture of forward-thinking and continuous improvement.
o Define technical performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of engineering processes and solutions.
o Represent the company in technical forums, conferences, and industry events to position it as a leader in lightweight structures and façade engineering.
2. Team Leadership and Development:
o Recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier technical talent, ensuring the team’s capabilities align with the company's needs.
o Regularly evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for growth.
o Lead regular technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions to encourage creativity and collaboration among the team.
o Act as a mentor to engineers and designers, fostering their career development and technical mastery.
3. Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance:
o Guide the design and execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring innovative yet practical solutions tailored to client needs.
o Review and approve project designs, structural analyses, material selections, and engineering calculations.
o Conduct regular audits of technical processes and deliverables to ensure compliance with quality standards and client expectations.
o Troubleshoot complex engineering issues and provide decisive solutions to overcome project challenges.
4. Innovation and Research:
o Lead research initiatives to explore new materials, construction methods, and technologies that align with the company’s vision for sustainable and innovative design.
o Collaborate with academic institutions and research bodies to stay at the forefront of industry developments.
o Implement pilot projects to test emerging technologies and assess their viability for broader application in company operations.
5. Client and Stakeholder Collaboration:
o Serve as the primary technical liaison for clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met through innovative engineering solutions.
o Participate in client meetings to present technical concepts, progress updates, and recommendations.
o Collaborate with project managers, designers, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of technical solutions into overall project workflows.
o Manage relationships with external partners, including consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure alignment with project objectives.
6. Resource and Risk Management:
o Evaluate the technical resource needs for projects and allocate personnel, equipment, and tools efficiently.

7. Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure all engineering and technical activities comply with relevant international, national, and local regulations, including Eurocodes, safety guidelines, and environmental standards.

o Stay updated on changes in industry regulations and ensure their timely adoption across operations.
