The Opportunity
Are you passionate about the intricate details of legal contracts? Do you excel in environments where governance, efficiency and frequent optimization are necessary to success? We are looking for someone to join our team as a Governance Contracting and Process Excellence Lead in the Enterprise Contracting Center. You will play an important part in ensuring our contracts follow legal requirements, are enterprise wide harmonized and optimized for efficiency, and contribute to our overall governance framework and success. This is a Senior Manager level role.
The Role
1. Contract Review and Analysis: Conduct reviews of legal contracts to ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards. Analyze contract terms and conditions to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Create enterprise-wide harmonization and simplification of contracting as such, contracting processes and contracting services.
2. Governance Compliance: Collaborate with legal and compliance, commercial, business and procurement teams to set-up an Agile governance set up for Contracting services in the enterprise that ensures contracts align with corporate governance standards and procedures, external laws, and regulations.
3. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve contract management processes, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance overall productivity. Implement best practices and automation tools to optimize contract lifecycle management.
4. Stakeholder Communication: Be a liaison between legal, procurement, commercial, finance, and other relevant departments to facilitate communication and collaboration throughout the contract lifecycle. Provide support to stakeholders on contract-related matters.
5. Risk Management: Assess potential risks associated with contract terms and propose mitigation strategies to safeguard the interests of the organization with a smart risk-taking mindset. Conduct risk assessments and develop risk management plans.
6. Performance Monitoring: Establish measurements to gauge the effectiveness of contract management processes. Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from targets.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of contract-related activities, including approvals, amendments, and terminations. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing contract performance, compliance status, and optimization efforts.
Your Skills and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in law, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or certification in Contract Management or Legal Studies preferred.
2. Additional qualification in auditing, process optimization and simplification, contract law or pharmaceutical law a plus
3. Experience with contract management, contract analysis, or related legal field.
4. Experience with contract law, corporate governance principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
5. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and identify areas for improvement.
6. Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office Suite.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
8. Focus on accuracy while envisioning the big picture.
9. Work as a team-player and independently.
10. Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry preferred.
