Scientific Director of INFRAFRONTIER ERIC

Responsibilities:
1. Leadership of an international organisation,
2. Definition and proposal of the future strategy of Infrafrontier ERIC to the Assembly of Members,
3. Efficient scientific management of Infrafrontier ERIC,
4. Support of the Assembly of Members by setting the agenda of its meetings and preparation of its deliberations and decisions; as well as ensuring the execution of the decisions of the Assembly of Members,
5. Leading the interactions with external stakeholders, coordination of public relations, dissemination activities and outreach to potential users,
6. Coordinating the scientific output and consortium publications.
Requirements of the role:
1. Renowned and leading scientists in rodent models and genetics with vast knowledge on research with in vitro and in vivo models and human disease modeling using advanced technologies,
2. Familiarity with the European research area and funding system,
3. Well-connected in the European Research Infrastructure Landscape (EC, ESFRI, Life-science RIs, ...),
4. Knowledgeable about the ethical and legal frameworks for utilizing animals in research,
5. Broad understanding of the legislative and ethical frameworks and statutory requirements related to the general RI environment in Europe,
6. Broad strategic vision and a business perspective in RI management,
7. Ability to communicate objectives and activities to different stakeholder groups as well as to balance diverging stakeholder requirements,
8. Expertise in service development, including a solid understanding of intellectual property rights.
Terms and conditions:
Infrafrontier ERIC will pay an appropriate allowance to the Scientific Director. The advertised position is not a full-time post. It is conceived as a part-time position that can be carried out in addition to existing obligations.

1. The top candidates will be invited to give a presentation on-site in Neuherberg near Munich, Germany.
2. The final candidate will be invited for negotiations in late November 2024.
3. The official appointment of the Scientific Director of Infrafrontier ERIC depends on the availability of the candidate. The preferred starting date is 01.01.2025.
