Job Description
How you will make an impact?
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Procurement Transformation Lead to drive the digital transformation and strategic evolution of our IT procurement function. This role is responsible for leading initiatives that enhance standardization and digitalization. Additionally, the role acts as a business partner for the IT community (IT procurement responsibilities in other countries), ensuring seamless collaboration with external IT providers and optimizing procurement processes and tools.
The ideal candidate will also be responsible for fostering knowledge sharing, accelerating solution implementation, and ensuring streamlined and user-friendly procurement processes across all Metro countries and service companies.
Your responsibilities:
IT Procurement Digital Transformation
* Lead the transformation of IT procurement into a value-adding, strategic function through standardization and digitalization;
* Identify and implement key initiatives to improve efficiency, compliance, and cost-effectiveness;
* Leverage digital tools and platforms to enhance procurement automation, analytics, and decision-making;
* Implement and monitor IT Procurement principles across all relevant functions.
IT Procurement Business Partnering
* Act as a trusted central procurement business partner for the IT procurement community;
* Support escalations and resolve procurement-related issues efficiently;
* Collaborate with stakeholders to align IT procurement strategies with broader business and IT goals, based on prioritized projects and budgets.
Knowledge Sharing & Best Practices
* Foster the sharing of innovation, expertise, digitalization, specialist knowledge, and best practices between countries, service companies, and METRO Digital in the area of IT procurement;
* Manage the international IT procurement community, ensuring collaboration and synergies between procurement experts across all Metro countries.
Acceleration of Solution Implementation
* Support the request and initiative process to accelerate the implementation of necessary solutions in all aspects of IT procurement;
* Drive, track, and implement the necessary processes;
* Ensure user-friendly and streamlined procurement processes for all stakeholders.
Strategic Decision Support
* Provide insights and expertise to support strategic procurement decision-making processes;
* Together with the category managers, ensure alignment of procurement strategies with overall business and IT objectives;
* Detailed development of business cases and budget calculations for the annual business review.
Qualifications
Required key competencies and
qualifications
:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, or a related field;
* Some years of professional experience and proven track record in IT procurement, strategic sourcing or procurement transformation roles;
* Strong knowledge of digital procurement tools, platforms, and automation technologies e.g. with SAP Ariba;
* Experience in managing procurement projects, contract lifecycle management, and supplier relationships;
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiating and communication skills;
* Experience in managing international procurement communities is a plus;
* Very good fluency in English (written and verbal) is a must, German is a plus.
