Your role
As a trainee Latvian Translator you will:
1. translate non-legal texts from English into Latvian;
2. revise and proofread texts written in Latvian;
3. help to identify, extract and compile terminology, particularly in the fields of economics and finance;
4. contribute to other activities of the team of Latvian translators, such as maintaining translation memories and providing linguistic advice.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
5. a bachelor’s degree or higher in modern languages or translation;
6. experience translating English texts into Latvian;
7. a good knowledge of the MS Office package, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
8. a mastery-level (C2) command of Latvian and an advanced (C1) command of English, according to the .
Desired:
9. a master’s degree (or master’s degree studies in the final stages of completion) in modern languages or translation;
10. an intermediate (B1) command of another official EU language;
11. familiarity with computer assisted translation tools;
12. an interest in financial and economic affairs.
