A well-established company manufacturing company, with over 60 years of experience, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager/Financial Accountant (m/f/d) for their office in Cologne. This is a full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week). The company is known for its cutting-edge technology, high-quality standards, and innovative solutions.
As a key member of the management team, you will oversee the financial operations at the German site. Your role will involve ensuring financial control, managing financial reporting, and providing strategic analysis and advice to support the company’s growth. This position reports directly to the European Finance Director located in the UK.
Responsibilities:
* Manage finances for multiple entities, ensuring smooth operations in day-to-day business.
* Collaborate closely with management to provide strategic support and decision-making assistance.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including cash flow forecasts and analyses.
* Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to help manage the company effectively.
* Coordinate with international finance teams and share insights with colleagues in the UK.
* Handle tax, insurance, and payroll matters to ensure compliance with regulations.
* Continuously improve and optimize financial systems and workflows.
* Supervise and support a part-time employee in administrative and financial tasks.
Requirements:
* A degree or relevant qualification in finance/accounting (e.g., Tax Specialist, Accountant).
* Several years of experience in a similar role, ideally in a mid-sized company.
* Strong organizational and forward-thinking skills to manage tasks and prioritize effectively.
* A solid commercial understanding for efficient process management and decision-making.
* Excellent communication skills, both in German and English, with the ability to build strong relationships and advise confidently.
* Proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems.
